The Dana on Mission Bay has a great location near the docks and SeaWorld, but the property itself leaves much to be desired. My fiancé and I stayed here for two nights during a whale watching trip, and the experience was incredibly frustrating. During both nights of our stay, a youth boys' soccer team was scattered across the property. They were extremely loud everywhere they went at all hours of the night, yelling and stomping... We called the front desk each night to file a noise complaint. On the second night, it took two separate calls, and the group still did not quiet down. If you are looking for a restful night, this is not the place. The value for the money simply is not there. We paid over $400 a night and left completely exhausted because we could not sleep. I will never recommend staying here. Stay away and go to a Holiday Inn or Hilton instead for a significantly better experience.

. Our family always enjoys staying at The Dana on Mission Bay, and it has become one of our favorite places in San Diego. The location is outstanding—close to SeaWorld, Mission Beach, Belmont Park, and so many family-friendly activities. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are great for kids, and the overall atmosphere makes for a relaxing vacation. Where the experience falls a bit short is the food and breakfast. While the on-site restaurant is convenient, the value doesn't quite match the price. Breakfast options are decent, but with so many excellent cafés and restaurants just minutes away, it's hard to justify eating on property every morning. This isn't meant as a negative review—more of a "glass half full" perspective. The Dana is an excellent hotel, but improving the food quality or lowering the pricing would make the overall experience truly exceptional. Guests have countless dining choices nearby that offer better value for the money, so enhancing this part of the stay would elevate an already fantastic destination. Overall, we'd absolutely stay here again. If you're planning a family trip to Mission Bay, it's a wonderful home base with beautiful grounds, a great location

Its fine, costs more than its worth. The staff are fine, but not friendly nor helpful. The parking costs 35 bucks a night extra, but there are only spaces if get back early enough from whatever youre out doing The park view includes homeless campers, and our shower drained so slowly that by the time my hair was washed, I was standing in water over my ankles, and the pocket door for the loo rattled like the panels were broken. The internet is so slow, we used our personal Hotspot rather than pay yet more to upgrade to a speed that would run a zoom meeting on a laptop. We booked thru Alaska Vacations, a Jr King suite - not doing that again. Handy to get to and from sea world though, oh and you get two complimentary bottles of water per day. I did really like the landscaping around our building, too. It is fine, truly. Just nothing fancy, and for the price, it should've been.

This hotel is a hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, the check-in was quick and easy, setting the tone for a relaxing stay. The heated pool and large hot tub were a major plus, never feeling overcrowded and always inviting. What truly stood out was the outdoor dining experience. The combination of fires, pretty lights, and outdoor heating created a magical ambiance, perfect for a romantic evening. Plus, being able to bring our dogs and enjoy dinner together was a unique and delightful touch, especially with the thoughtful doggie package provided. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly vacation spot or a romantic getaway, this hotel has it all. With so much to do and such a welcoming atmosphere, we can't wait to return! This was my second time staying with absolutely no complaints at all.
