The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel

I stayed a couple of weeks ago and the staff is amazing!! It was my first time in California, and this hotel immediately gave me a great impression upon arriving. When I arrived, the valet guys took my car, Eric came and took our bags upstairs (super kind btw! I never saw him again but he was truly so sweet, welcoming, and gave us many recommendations on local areas to visit!), the front desk staff (Tatiana) made the check in so easy as well, I often did call to the front desk and they always answered quickly and came promptly if we needed new towels, blankets, etc. The restaurant / bar staff, Carlos was really friendly and also helpful on local recommendations. Overall, a great time at the hotel! The views from our room were amazing as well. The valet guys were prompt and fast as well, very prompt, no matter what hour of the day. I swear they always had my car out within seconds to two minutes tops. I wish I had tipped them more for their quickness & kindness always upon departing & arriving. During our stay, there was a Saturday, that had 3 different wedding celebrations going on at the hotel, and even still they were fast & prompt. The hotel felt clean, and well taken care of. I

My wife is currently staying here for what was supposed to be a relaxing two-night post-birthday getaway after the loss of a loved one. After just the first day, I’m honestly shocked by how poorly things have been handled. We booked this hotel because it’s a Hilton, it has a 4.4-star rating, and it presents itself as a higher-end property. You expect a certain level of cleanliness, attention to detail, and customer service. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been our experience. Before she checked in, my wife made it very clear that she has a medical condition requiring a full-size bathtub. She was assured the room she was assigned would accommodate that. After unpacking and getting settled, she realized it didn’t. To make matters worse, the room itself was dirty. My wife told Jordyn, the Director of Front Office, that she had taken photos of the room’s condition, but there was no interest in seeing them. The response was simply, “Oh, that was our bad.” What bothered me even more was that after my wife explained multiple times that the bathtub wasn’t a preference but a medical necessity, Jordyn repeatedly responded with, “If that’s something you need.” That wording was incredibly dismi

I would love to give this hotel a 5 star rating, but unfortunately, I can't. First of all, the location is stellar. We literally walked 5 minutes to the beach, to the mall, and to some really nice restaurants. Also, we had an ocean front 2 room suite that was really nice with 2 queen beds in one room and a "living room" type situation adjacent. We had a balcony that was lovely, overlooking the courtyard where there was a wedding one evening and a skincare event the next morning. The ocean view was fantastic. Also, the pools were great, and there were water slides at one of the pools which the kids loved. I really liked the art throughout the hotel, and the doors painted yellow really gave the hotel a cool beach vibe. However, the television was antiquated: it did not have smart tv technology. We were only able to watch live television, no streaming. Also, the coffee machine was broken and the fridge leaked water. Thus, some of the "upkeep" type things just lacked. For such a nice hotel with great amenities, it seems like they should invest a little money into keeping the technology up to date.
