If you're looking for a tennis coach in the San Francisco area, I highly recommend Yuri. During our short visit to SF, he was able to fit my sister into his schedule on very short notice and was incredibly responsive throughout the process. He arranged court time and private instruction for the next two days, making everything easy and seamless for us. Yuri was punctual, positive, enthusiastic, and clearly invested in helping his players improve. My sister is a high school varsity tennis player, and he gave her a thoughtful, high-level assessment of her game. He provided specific, actionable feedback on her backhand, slice, volleys, serve, and drop shot, which is advice she has continued to use now that we are back home in Minnesota. What stood out most was his coaching style. Yuri does not simply watch a player repeat the same mistake; he identifies the issue, explains how to correct it, and helps the player make adjustments in the moment. We have worked with other coaches before, and his attention to detail and genuine care for his players really set him apart. Since returning to Minnesota, others have already commented on my sister's overall improvement. We are very grateful

Coach Yuri is the best private tennis coach we’ve met in the SF Bay Area. Responsive, reasonable rates, USPTA certified - rare on public courts. Our child’s tennis and form was noticeably improved after just eight lessons. This was after months of prior tennis group and private classes without substantial progress. Yuri coaches people of all levels - from high school competitive tennis players to working professionals and retirees looking to improve their game. He motivated our child at his level, playing games to make it fun. We look forward to working with Yuri over the years ahead.

Yuri is a knowledgeable and patient tennis coach. He explains techniques clearly, gives helpful and practical feedback, and makes each lesson feel productive. I’ve had a great experience training with Yuri. He’s super responsive, very professional, and clearly knows what he’s doing as a USPTA-certified coach, which really shows in how he runs each session. Scheduling is always easy, and everything just feels well-organized. What I like most is how accommodating he is. He adjusts to your level and what you need that day, so nothing ever feels forced or overly structured. His prompts are also very memorable. I catch myself thinking about them while playing, which is to me the biggest proof they work. He’s also perfect for couples. I play with my husband, and Yuri balances both of us really well, so we’re improving together but still having fun. And I LOVE where he teaches. Classes around Mountain Lake in SF (just one of his locations) just make the whole experience even better. I genuinely enjoy every session and always look forward to the next one. :)

Great experience taking beginner lessons with Yuri! He makes learning the game really fun, and we appreciate that he adds humor to the lessons while still keeping the focus on our development. He is also very organized, flexible with lesson times, and a clear communicator. Highly recommend!
