We celebrated a birthday in the lounge. The menu variety is what drew me. The chef & bartender & manager were lovely, professional, had good communication, and more. The hotel was gracious enough to let us have our birthday cake in the covered courtyard since a summer storm motivated us off the beach. I look forward to coming back regularly but with a smaller group & more speciality drinks for the adults.

Recently and with excitement I booked one nite at the hotel. Parking was a total pain. I was told there was an event music would last until 10pm. Why did I not know in advance. I would have gone else where! The base loud music was unbelievable! I took a shower to go to own event! Almost slipped in the tub and the towels were thin and rough. Must have been original s! The sink water would not turn off so I went underneath and turned off from there. Got back to my room about 9:30 pm or so to encounter screaming and cussing in the hall in floor two. Went down stairs to see cops. Was told on floor two they caught some of the kids "blowing coke"! Well with the music. Noise. And all. I was leaving. Packed my stuff and went down to bring my car around to load. I had to wait until every drunk young kid left this so called event and the four cop cars left! That was about sometime after 10 pm. I drove home. Really disappointed me for this location! So before you book here call and see if they are having an event with every loud teen in jax. Never again!

If the walls could talk...I bet this was a hopping place in decades ago! Loved the old photos and the wood architecture. They are in the process of renovation (started when I was there, so the elevator was out of service, making the use of stairs inevitable). The room was comfortable, a little small, but I was there for the beach and atmosphere, not tons of time in the room. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was nice (I would recommend newer shower heads). A little too much light around the door for my liking, but I still slept fine. Breakfast was very nicely done, with many options. You could feel the nostalgia of the place. An enjoyable get away.
