Shady Trails HOA is easily one of the most frustrating and poorly managed HOAs I’ve ever dealt with. For the amount of money residents are forced to pay, you’d think there would be some level of competence but that’s clearly not the case. The communication is a complete mess. Updates are either vague, delayed, or nonexistent, and trying to get a straight answer from management feels like talking to a wall. Emails go ignored, concerns get brushed off, and accountability is basically nonexistent. What’s worse is how backwards their priorities are. They’ll jump at the chance to send out violation notices for the smallest, most insignificant things, yet when it comes to actual issues like maintenance, safety concerns, or community upkeep they’re suddenly nowhere to be found. Common areas are neglected, problems drag on forever, and when something finally gets addressed, it’s half-done at best. Parking is a nightmare, and enforcement feels completely random. There’s no consistency, no fairness just confusion and frustration that ends up affecting residents more than helping anything. This community has really gone downhill with both its amenities and its staff. I have lived here for the past 3 years and have noticed that gym equipment is often broken or poorly maintained, the gate is always broken, and the only good security guard that actually cared for the people in the community, Marco, was transferred. Why am I paying for a gated community when the gate does not even work. Also do not appreciate being accused of not being a residence by one of the clubhouse staff with long curly hair. Was working out with my brother and we have both lived here for the past 3 years and frequent the gym. Apparently was never under the home owners account even though we both have key fobs so how does that work? Very disappointed for the amount of money we pay ever month to live here.

A major disappointment with Shady Trails is the loss of Marco, the previous security guard. He was one of the few things that truly made this community feel safe. Marco was always warm, welcoming, and attentive—he knew residents, kept an eye out for anything suspicious, and actually cared about the well-being of the neighborhood. Since he left, there’s been a noticeable decline in the sense of security here. It’s frustrating because with the amount we’re paying in HOA fees, you would expect consistent, quality security and management. Instead, it feels like we’re losing the few good things this community had while still being charged more every year. The value just isn’t there anymore. Between the rising costs, poor management, and now the drop in security, I’m honestly at the point where I’m planning to move elsewhere. It’s not worth what we’re paying.

Everything is going to waste dim lights in the gym some are off not working street lights in the community are off community is dark kids jungle gym playground is dark no lighting light fixture wires exposed next to running sprinklers water on palm trees major hazards water faucets dripping water for months creating the homeowners large water bills on wasted water spillage broken sprinklers throughout the property fire hydrants do not have red fire hydrant curves painted no parking signs no fire hydrant signs to give residence notice of non-parking areas security cameras on property are not working gym is missing a defibrillator for emergency male manager is disrespectful to minors in the swimming pool area Community residence children who live in the community are often kicked out of the clubhouse making it a uncomfortable experience for any guests to visit Shady Trails HOA management has neglected the community, finding conflict of interest when management staff parents live on the property and takes time to date a co-worker rather than get work done in the office for the community residence. office staff leaves early using security to run front office in the clubhouse security o
