This Sacramento Central YMCA is horrible. I signed my 2 kids up for swim lessons 2 months prior. Their very first swim lesson they canceled less then hour before their class due to lack of instructors. When calling them, the front desk person Mohammad didnβt even verify which kid they are canceling the swim lesson for saying swim lessons are canceled. They donβt even offer you refund or credit. I donβt know how this place does business but they should be shut down. When you call they donβt even answer or call you back. After numerous calls, voicemails, emails they still donβt respond back. Their aquatics coordinator Daria Pond was no help at all either. She never credited my sonβs swim lessons. Even the their Facilities Manager Stephanie does not respond after emailing and leaving messages. This place is so unprofessional!! The parking also sucks. Super small and compact. Their pool area is dirty, old and outdated. Save yourself the headache and money. Looks else where for your kids swim lessons because this place will take your money, cancel on you last minute and offer no refund or resolution. I would give them 0 starts if I could!!

This was our first time enrolling in the YMCA basketball league, and unfortunately it will likely be our last. It has become clear that the younger divisions, particularly the Pre-K league, are not being given the level of attention and organization that parents should expect. Prior to the season, I received multiple emails stating that a coach had not been found for my sonβs team and asking parents to volunteer, even if they had no coaching experience. As a paying customer, if I am enrolling my child in a sport they are completely new to, I expect the program to provide qualified coaches who can teach the fundamental skills necessary for development. Instead, parents are being asked to fill coaching positions simply because the organization was unable to secure coaches beforehand. While I appreciate the parents who volunteer their time, many are understandably trying to balance coaching with caring for and focusing on their own children during practices and games. This creates challenges that could have been avoided with proper planning and staffing. What is most disappointing is that participants were allowed to register for the league before coaching positions were secured. Thi

Awesome gym- this used to be one of the most high-end gyms in Sacramento. It has vintage Mediterranean charm. Outdoor pool, 2 saunas, steam room, hot tub. Racketball and basketball courts. It is a great gym and very inexpensive.

I have been attending the arthritis water class for probably at least 20 years. It is outstanding and I was highly recommended by an orthopedic surgeon to never stop the class. Pat Wolfe is an amazing class director. I also attended the morning tai chi class taught by Frank. It was excellent as well.

Some recent problems are a concern - equipment I depend on to justify my visits has been in need of service for over five weeks now - It looks like simple repairs, but nothing is being done. There are often three idle staff at the reception, but no repair people?!
