In Sacramento, recreation centers and parks are busiest after work and on Saturday mornings, while athletic clubs are quiet mid-day. Membership contracts across California vary widely, so ask about initiation fees, freezes and cancellation terms before signing, and about whether court time is included or booked separately. Personal trainers who specialize in tennis fitness usually work out of a club or a park; a short trial session is normal before committing to a package.

Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Sacramento is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Extremely slow response times by the staff. Customers continue pouring/dumping water into the dry sauana machines. This has already been escalated multiple times to the staff yet no one has taken ownership to post any signage at the entrance of the dry sauna norifying customers. The dry unit is almost certainly an electric heaterβand most of those are dry-only, meaning water on the rocks can aerosolize dust and minerals which are unhealthy to breathe. That is also why the steam room exists. Leaving a 1 star review until someone takes ownership to post signage. I am sick of informing customers and it's also not their fault but the internal management who needs to make changes.

I signed up for this gym in January of this year to take advantage of the Yβs new year promotion which waived the initiation fee. I opted for the annual membership (with a small state employee discount) because this gym had everything I was looking for: a convenient location, hours which worked with my schedule, a good selection of well-maintained cardio equipment (which never required a wait), group classes included in the membership, and a spa area. Additionally, since the day pass is only $15, my friends from other parts of town were willing to come join me for a workout every now and then. If you had asked me about four months ago, I would have recommended this gym without any hesitation. However, as of August 2026, I am questioning whether I want to renew my membership once it expires in a few months for the reasons below: 1. The AC in the cardio room has been out (or barely functioning) for over a month as of the time I am writing this review. Members still have not been officially informed of this problem (I had to ask the front desk for confirmation that it was actually broken). It also does not appear there are any current plans to fix it. I have asked staff and emailed

Went there 1 time. Its nice and spacious with plenty exercise amenities and everything is quite new..BUT.. things get sketchy once you enter the shower rooms. There is absolutely no privacy (no curtains, no individual stalls..zillch)..and the showers are very close to each other. Creating a very cautionary environment.. which is too risky (especially if you want to take your child to the pool (pre shower first) or work out and then shower after.. Everything else is just fine.. staff was polite and helpful as well

It was a nice Y. Iβm only giving it one star to draw attention to the fact that almost half of the pictures here on Google are not of this Y. I went specifically for a certain piece of equipment that they didnβt even have. Nothing wrong with the gym, just be aware. If someone monitors from your location, can you please edit. Thanks!

Staff are friendly young people. Facilities are, for the most part, clean and tidy. Plenty of machines, never seems too crowded even at peak times. Machines vary from one location to the next, Capitol location has beautiful weight machines, nice locker room, steam room, sauna, whirlpool. Can't beat it for the price.
