The YMCA has everything you need: a full weight room, plenty of cardio machines, a basketball court, a cycling/spinning room, and even an indoor track where 10 laps equals 1 mile so you can run at your own pace. The environment is mature and respectful, which makes working out comfortable. I do wish the prices were a bit lower, but they truly support lowβincome families so no one is left behind. Overall, a solid community gym with great amenities.

I enjoy the North YMCA because it provides opportunities to meet new members in a welcoming environment. The availability of coffee adds to the pleasant atmosphere, and the staff are consistently friendly and professional.

The North YMCA is a wonderful well balanced gathering place for social, physical and emotional health. The inspirational management of Melissa Gross and Staci Stokes with the support of custodians like Rosie Aberiavarez contribute to a wholesome and clean environment. As the name YMCA indicates, itβs philosophy of Christian ethics and attitudes permeate the hearts of the people. The interesting backgrounds, life experiences, and individual needs, provide for a wholesome unofficial support group. When a YMCA friend is absent for a period of time, phone calls, prayers, and emotional support can be noticed if you are aware of it. People may be seen sharing baking refreshments, garden vegetables, insights into life challenges, and simply the need to have a friend. One person who was depressed and discourage for a lengthy time, said, βcoming here saved their life.β Friends phone friends who may have had a health challenge to encourage them or just to know they are important. The physical plantβs workout machines and group activities keep us healthy and moving. Everyone can find an exercise machine, group activity, or just a walk around the climate regulated facilities. North Y is a great place to work out. Many classes are offered by excellent instructors. All sorts of machines and equipment are available as well. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The entire building is very clean. In spite of her busy schedule the Executive Director Melissa puts up seasonal decorations, which adds inviting and cheerful atmosphere when we walk in.

I stopped in today on a workout and upon entry I noticed how clean the facility was! The menβs locker room was clean, including the shower and toilet area. More gyms can take a lesson on cleanliness less from YMCA! The location have a wrap around track on the second floor that is perfect for walking but not running so much. The cardio machines are all on second floor and they are limited and the main floor all have their free and machine weights, basketball and spin room. They have to have a nice variety of weights but limited number of weights and machines so on a busy day, you may have to workout between your mates. The hours of operation is limited to 8-9pm and some locations closed on Sunday which is disappointing because if I tend to workout mostly in the late evenings. The only hinder from a 5 star are the hours and limited machines and weights. Nice gym and child care options but if you tend to workout early or late in the evenings, YMCA may not be the best option.
