i usually frequent parks on the north side such as walker ranch. but i have had a few experiences where it has caused me to look for other suitable parks which is what i am doing now. i try to find and visit 2-3 parks a day. somewhere my cats will be safe also. mcarthur park is an older park that's been around for decades at least since 1959 the sign said? will verify later and edit this. my family had an event here decades ago. this is only my 2nd or 3rd time back since then. i won't add any pictures because they would be the same as the ones already posted here. the park is rectangular shaped, fenced in, no tall weeds or natural areas which is good for me since i have cats that would be lost in them. so flat areas are easily more visible. the park has the same amenities as others, a pavilion or 2 that can be reserved for events, playgrounds, trash cans... i am not sure about bbq pits. but one thing you will find is lots of green picnic tables. it's a little further for me, but i drive it on occasion to get away and it's always been relaxing for me. even though most ppl bring dogs to parks on leashes, some ppl like myself bring cats because they live with me in my car. cats are no

This park is truly a gem 💎in San Antonio! There’s plenty of open space for kids to run, walkways for parents, and it’s very pet-friendly. Parking is abundant, the bathrooms are clean, and the entire area is always well-maintained. We had a great experience. The park is perfect for birthday parties, with lots of pavilions available for families and groups. I also appreciate how safe it feels—cops come around often, and it gives you peace of mind. I absolutely recommend this park to any family. We love it here!!!

Took my lunch break in this park. On a Monday and was not crowded at all. Very nice park with numerous trees, picnic tables, pavilions, barbecue pits, trash cans, conveniently located throughout. Also has an extensive playground for children as well as sidewalks connecting all the different areas. Did not see any trails associated with the part, but it is still very nice. I would eat lunch here again lol

Rented pavilion #4 and the kitchen. Pros: Kitchen is very spacious. Two huge bbq pits, plenty of prep space with deep sinks, big refrigerator, walk in freezer (doesn't freeze or keep things frozen) and has a serving window. Pavilion is big with plenty of seating, a stage, spacious serving area, and electrical outlets. Also it has an outside patio with lots more seating. Also plenty parking. Cons: In the reservation process it asked if I would be having 200 or more guest to contact security. I had under 100 but was still forced to get security. I did let security know that I would have under 100 and no drinking when they called me but I was still forced to get security. My suggestion is to take off the "If so" in the question. It is very misleading. Overall great experience. Mario the park attendant was great.

Came here on 9/20/2020 for a nice quiet place to eat with the wife. Had an excellent time. Not to hot and very breezy. Spent the afternoon just enjoying the our food and scenery. Not many people at the park but probably because it's a Sunday. Will definitely be back again. Very well get and super clean tables and restrooms too.
