This hotel is nice enough but the AC doesn’t seem to work properly on the fourth floor. After a long day on the road we unfortunately couldn’t get comfortable as the AC units don’t seemed to be sized properly for the rooms (at least in our room there was only a small window AC powered by a thermostat on the other side of the suite). Even though it was only May and not extremely hot, running the thermostat ALL night only lowered the room by one degree. Wish we could have opened a window as, by morning, our room was literal 25 degrees warmer than outside! Not a comfortable way to sleep after a long day on the road. If you’re needing a cool room, check in advance, get a room on a lower floor, but prepare for a warm evening. The hotel itself seems fairly modern (other than the ACs), staff is great, and the location right off the interstate / frontage road is very convenient. Beds are a bit stiff (but some might find that perfect). Pillows are very flat (I needed 3 just to elevate my neck to a normal level). Fridge in the room is nice and kitchenette is great to have. Bathrooms are a touch on the small side but sufficient (just a note that the bathroom has a pocket door that doesn’t l

For a long time I have stayed in Marriot hotels when I travel. The last few years the standards in Marriots continue to slide and it had gotten way worse after Covid. I think Covid taught them what they think they can get away with in terms of crappy customer treatment. After staying at a Marriot in San Angelo again last night and them charging me 5 bucks for coffee this morning, and trying to levy a charge for surface packing, on top of no daily housekeeping, no free breakfast anymore, and a raft of other annoyances I decided I had to try something different. I am also a memeber of Hilton and have used them occaissionally. Booked a room in Amerillo today, one day after my stay in San Angelo. Hilton Home 2 was 30 bucks cheaper than the Marriot across the parking lot, better Google rating, complimentary breakfast, free coffee available all day, free parking, free water bottles on check in, real glasses and coffee cups, and a full size toilet rather than the midget height version Marriot now installs, that are hell on older people. Hilton also had a larger better appointed room with full kitchen. The bathroom is easily 50% larger than Marriot Courtyards. Hilton also does housekeep
