The system let me book a room for 2 adults and 2 kids, but the room cannot fit 4. The front desk lady was rude and did not offer any resolution. Avoid this place. The booking system could have had issues and i understand. The 0 start is for utter lack of empathy. The reviews below show that i am not the first person to be treated like this by the front desk lady. Good riddance.

I had a very disappointing experience from the moment I arrived. I said hello to the receptionist, and she didn’t even greet me back. My Expedia reservation was clearly made for 3 guests, and the price on my Expedia invoice already reflected that reservation. However, the receptionist tried to charge me an additional $50 for the third person. When I explained that the reservation was already for three people, she told me that Expedia’s third-party rate did not cover the additional guest fee. That explanation didn’t make sense to me since my confirmed reservation specifically listed three guests. Her attitude and tone were also very unpleasant. I noticed the same behavior toward other customers. For example, another guest was trying to use his points to get a beer, and the way she told him no came across as unnecessarily rude. Thankfully, I had purchased cancellation insurance through Expedia this time and was able to cancel the reservation and receive a full refund. Aside from the customer service experience, the hotel also looked much older and more dated in person than I expected from the photos. Overall, I’m glad I was able to cancel and stay elsewhere.

My wife and I had an outstanding stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Buck Owens Boulevard in Bakersfield. From start to finish, the front desk staff and the owner went above and beyond to accommodate us. We stayed for almost three weeks, and they made us feel right at home. The hotel is immaculate, the breakfast is fantastic, and the location is so convenient. I can’t recommend them enough—truly a top-notch experience!

I’ve been a loyal Hilton customer for years, regularly staying at properties across their portfolio for business travel. When my trip itinerary changed, I tried to adjust one reservation — while still planning to stay at other Hilton hotels on the same trip. Despite my loyalty and continued business, they quoted me a cancellation fee nearly equal to one night’s room rate. I was told no when I asked for reconsideration. A brand that penalizes long-term customers this way, even when they’re keeping their overall business with you, has lost mine for good. I won’t be staying at a Hilton again.
