Absolutely love this place! I am not part of the addiction/recovery communities, but this is a fantastic cafe for anyone. Whenever I have friends visiting the city I always bring them here. You really feel something special when you go up the stairs and enter … you feel the dimension of the Castro that is still a community, not just a tourist destination. Plus, there are no compromises on quality and the prices are so affordable, and the patio is gorgeous.

I did my own recovery through the CCC from 2005 (the year that I stopped using) to 2015 (the year I graduated) & it REALLY is the best LGBTQ+ recovery program (outside of a residential program) in an intensive outpatient programming format. LGBTQ+ folks need different things in their recovery than their heterosexual counterparts require and the CCC is also a "safe space" recovery program environment. They're also networked in to all the AA & CMA/NA groups in San Francisco. I also worked as the Program Director of the YouthSpace Program at the Eureka Valley Recreation Center for a long time, and I referred MANY of my clients (LGBTQ+ youth and young adults) to the CCC, so they could work on their own recovery as well.

Castro Country Club is a truly one of a kind location for making your way through your recovery journey feeling spiritually connected with one another. The men and women are some of the most loving and supportive people you will ever meet and you will make long lasting friendships. Whether you are looking for career preparation/transitioning into a new role, just need a place to pop a squat you will meet a core group of friends that will meet you where you are at and guide you through the ups and downs along with most importantly celebrating moments that include recovery milestones. Definitely check this place out and get connected with meetings, fellowship and other activities. This is a family of people who will help you out.

Good coffee, and a great location. I felt very welcome there and there are a great many meetings that meet there. I was able to get a lot of information. It was my first time there and I was overwhelmed with all the warm vibes in there. Definitely going again as soon as I can.

Great gathering place for folks in recovery. ANYONE, however, is welcome. Folks from the neighborhood who don’t need recovery come in and have coffee with us. It’s a really great, safe place and a fun environment. Koffee klatches spring up all the time.

This place is awesome. It's a safe and sober space for meetings and fellowship! A great spot for sober people and those seeking recovery to escape the melee and connect with the community! This place has literally saved countless lives by providing a place where people with addiction issues can meet and recover! They are a nonprofit and are entirely self-supported through donations and the sales of drinks and snacks. They also provide job-training and volunteer opportunities for the community.
