Went to the course on a layover from LAX. Easy to get to with metro connection bus and bus 3 dropping you off outside. Turned up at 5.30am with no booking or clubs and spoke with Tim at the shop. Tim was super kind, lent me clubs / push cart and let me play the back 9. One of the regulars gave me handful of balls for free. Was expecting I might not be able to play since it was a busy Saturday morning but the staff went out of their way to help. Course itself is scenic and for the price way better than I expected. Most importantly very friendly people so Tim and the regulars left a great impression of LA.

Nice range even at 21$ a bucket. I enjoyed it until I attempted to use the “world class” (3rd world class?) short game area. I hit 6 chips before a small old man pulled up in the Ranger cart and started scolding me for not buying a “short game tube” which was 6$ for every 30 minutes on the chipping area. I don’t like to feel like I’m in a taxi with a running meter while I practice golf but I would have paid if I’d known or noticed the sign among the 7 others around the chipping area. But old mate recognized me for the hardened criminal I am and insisted on watching me collect my illegal shots before he left. It’s a good thing he did, I may have practiced for hours incurring dozens of dollars in damages. You caught me bro! I had planned to steal a dozen bunker shots, and a fistful of bump and runs. I would then make a run of my own, heading for the border so I could start a new life in Mexico. Only there, far out of the ranger’s jurisdiction could I enjoy the spoils of my heist! Instead I will have to find other non world class courses, to run my scam of paying 21$ for range balls as cover while I deftly rip off 6$ of practice time. I’ll never visit Westchester again, the elderly

$18 for a medium and $21 for a large bucket of range balls. Costs as much to play 9 holes at Penmar. Beautiful spacious range though.

Four stars is still excellent.. it is a public course, so anyone can play. The greens had just been aerated, they are always trying to make the course enjoyable. Some players don't repair divots on greens, but they are very playable..

The course itself is really fun, very short 18 hole course with approx 4300 yards. We played around 4-4.5 hours with little to almost no waiting times. 9 par 3, 8 par 4 and just one par 5. absolute downside is every couple minutes extremely loud noises of the airplanes once it’s right next to the airport, this ruined the game abit for me.
