Dallas is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Dallas is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I joined the Verandah Club looking for a place to swim while training for Ironman Texas. Through my research they had the best pool with the most space around uptown so I joined. After joining for just the facility, i got so much more through swim classes with Tracey Roesner. She is an incredible triathlon coach and helped me go from swimming 100M to over 4000 without a problem. Her classes are fun and informative and i highly recommend for anyone getting into triathlon. If you have any fears of the Ironman swim, or are going for a new PB Tracey will help you get there and do so with a smile on your face.

I’ve been a member here for 2+ years. Have met friends and built a community at this fitness center. The club itself is a bit older but it has one of the best indoor pools in the area. Tracey Roesner - supervisor, swim instructor, and a personal trainer, has been instrumental in building my strength with weight training and fine-tuning my swim form. She is a triathlete (#1 in her age group) and trains lots of people trying to get into triathlons. Great club and great people.

If I could give a zero star review I would. First off, for a $200+ massage and have the Hilton name associated you think they would have experienced masseuses but the older lady I got was just kinda weird. The hot stone massage was okay, pretty lack luster and she was massaging weird parts of my body without even asking. Then I go and try and check out and they don’t take the Hilton Gift card that I wanted to use. Overall, go somewhere else if you want a relaxing massage because this wasn’t it.

I booked the services for four of us for a bachelorette party. If I had not been there for that, I would have walked out soon after getting there. When I was in the dressing room, a man suddenly walked out of the dressing room, and I found out it was unisex. Not only did I not know this in advance when booking the appointments, but then to have a man walk out behind a curtain and not even a locked door for fitting rooms is absolutely insane to me, at a high-end spa. This is not a European spa environment where one might assume would have unisex areas. I would have been OK if they had told me in advance when I booked the treatments that we would be getting undressed in a unisex changing room. At that point, I wouldn’t have booked the appointments but to have a man walk out in the dressing room as my first experience learning this, was shocking. I have had several family members raped, and I could not even fathom if I had brought my young teenage daughters with me this time. The four of us ended up getting facials and massages. The facials were amazing. The massage I received was great, but the massage the other two received was not very good at all. It may have been the worst $1300

My visit to Verandah Spa was a beautiful start to a mini self-care retreat with my best friend of over 40 years. The spa is serene, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed for relaxation. My massage was wonderful, and the therapist was so kind and helpful—she even suggested great things to do while we were in town. The staff’s professionalism and hospitality truly stood out, especially Mikko and Angelise, who made our experience extra special. The handwritten welcome note and fruit in our room was a heartwarming touch. Highly recommend!
