Captain Dan is excellent! I just completed the ASA 101 sailing course with him over five days with two other ladies. Our husbands the same class two weeks later. Captain Dan is an excellent teacher. He is Experience oriented. His history is a high school teacher really shows with his clear teaching style. We had an excellent time and are looking forward to sailing with him again.

We took the ASA 101 Sailing Course with Capt. Dan and it was absolutely superb! Wiley is a lovely boat and the perfect vessel to train on. Capt. Dan was incredibly thorough, communicated directly, and is an excellent teacher. He also did a terrific job of tailoring the lessons to the skills of his students. Any day out on the water is a good one, but the four days we spent with Capt. Dan were truly some of our best on the water to date! If you’re traveling through the area and just looking for an opportunity to get on the water, Capt. Dan will take excellent care of you! He has a true mastery over sailing and will ensure that your party is kept safe and having a great time the whole time!

Our family sail trip with our 88 year grandfather was a great experience with Captain Dan! He made the day a fun, smooth and memorable trip to the Islands. Thanks Captain Dan, we will be back for another trip!

Oh my goodness, what a delightful experience! Captain Dan is a terrific person with great stories and wonderful expertise. We LOVED spending the day with him. We were also thrilled to enjoy the company of a lovely couple that served as Dan's assistants. They made a beautiful lunch for us, and supplied great conversation and care for our group. We were able to disembark from the boat and paddle around in the kayaks they supplied to explore the Channel Islands, which was just splendid. I can't recommend them highly enough! Our family was very pleased with Captain Dan and the Sail Channel Islands funeral at sea service. Captain Dan is extremely skilled at boating and sailing which made us feel very confident. The boat is beautiful and we had wonderful weather (May 30 2025), overall it was exactly what we were looking for as we said our goodbyes to our Dad. Thank you Captain Dan and Nico!
