The guys who worked the pro shop this weekend were the worst. The energy, tone, and overall demeanor was flat out rude. From check in to check out, we had issues with the front desk tenants and the cart boy. Feels like a silly obstacle to cross just to play at a public golf course. Austin muni courses might be known for not having the best help in the pro shops, but there’s better out there than this guy. Don’t expect much.

Riverside Golf Course is a great round in Austin. The staff is friendly and helpful from check in to the turn. Course conditions are consistently good, with those historic oak and pecan lined fairways giving it a lot of character. The views of the city skyline from the course are a real highlight, especially on a clear day. One note, the “practice facility” is really just a net to hit into, so don’t expect a real range if that’s a priority before your round. Beyond that, a great value round with a lot of local golf history behind it. Recommend it for the course itself.

The guy who checked us in on Saturday around 9 was patronizing, we came into Austin to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. We were excited that the weather cleared up and he could play some golf. We did not know we needed to let Riverside know that I would be coming along as a rider and not player. When we walked in he rudely explained your policy, and told us we would have to pay for 2 carts. Which was fine, it was the way he told us that made us want to walk out and take our money elsewhere. We stayed and ended have a great game, the course was so much fun, and we enjoyed the locals we were paired up with. Over all we had a great time but the guy up front totally started off our day with bad vibes. It’s a business and I’m giving you my money, don’t be a meanie during that exchange.

Great course for the money! The course was nice and spread out pretty well. Price was great and the rental clubs were very nice as well. Visiting from out of town and was paired with two older guys from the area. I would play this course over and over again. Staff was extremely friendly. Great job.

I'm going to be honest here for all the other people who might be considering this course for a bachelor party. If you have people in your group who are not very good at golf, or who are newer, be prepared to have a bad time and I suggest you look for a course more accommodating. We'd told the group at Riverside ahead of time we were coming for golf for a large bachelor group, and mentioned some of us are newer to golf. Despite that the staff was rude when we first checked in, and later delayed our start time because they couldn't figure out the keys to the carts. Then after we started teeing off, they kept telling us we were behind even though there was no groups ahead or behind us but our Bach group. And even if we're getting slow, the person who came to us was practically yelling at us and not considerate of our group at all. Extremely rude. Lastly, there were many greens which were not properly kept up, and tons of random poor spots on the course. They didn't disclose this to us prior and we were disappointed, on top of the rude staff. So all in all, if you're thinking about this course for a Bach group party, I highly suggest looking somewhere else where the staff will act
