The staff is very competent and they resolve issues very well. I really enjoy their classes especially gentle yoga and water aerobics. I am also very happy with my membership price ☺️

The swim coach Joseph is seriously the best we have ever met. (We have had other swim lessons elsewhere hence the positive review here). My little girl was so fortunate to be in his class for 3 different stages. He is not only patient and kind, he is also very polite, has high social awareness, alert without causing anxiety to swimmers whether in or around the pool area and club. My child has learnt to enjoy swimming, flipping amongst other things he had been teaching and also observe safety rules. He looks out for everyone. I must say as a parent and patron, everyone working at Y really would benefit from his work ethics. The biggest reason we recommend and keep coming back.Thank you!

I’ve been a member at the Palo Alto Family YMCA for a while now, and it’s a great place to stay active. There are several things that make this gym stand out: Upgraded Equipment: I’m really happy to see the new equipment they’ve recently brought in. It’s a huge improvement and makes the workouts much more effective. Top-Tier Cleanliness: This is consistently one of the cleanest gyms I’ve been to. The staff does a fantastic job maintaining the space. Wonderful Staff: The team here is incredibly nice and welcoming. It makes for a very positive atmosphere every time I walk in. One Suggestion: The only thing that would make this place perfect is if they stayed open a bit later. Closing at 9:00 PM can be a bit early for those with busy schedules. Extending the hours even by an hour or two would be a great benefit for the community! Overall, it’s a fantastic, community-focused gym that keeps getting better.

The staff and lifeguards here are professional and helpful. However, there are ***recurring issues with some members not following lane-sharing rules***, which can lead to uncomfortable situations. Clearer communication and more consistent reinforcement of pool etiquette would greatly improve the experience. I hope to see positive changes, as this is otherwise a great facility.

I am a USAF Disabled Veteran with Cody my Service Dog. We joined the YMCA to pursue mostly aqua-fitness therapy due to my spinal and knee issues. These conditions create chronic pain for me. The facility is equipped with a lap pool, aqua-fitness pool and a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi in particular assists me with chronic and severe flare-ups. The only issue I have with the YMCA is that I feel ostracized and discriminated against because of Cody. I was told we have to utilize a gender neutral bathroom to change clothes and Cody is NOT allowed on the pool deck. By ADA regulations and laws, this should not be the case. Both I and my service dog have the right to utilize every inch of the facility without being discriminated against, except for immersion, of Cody, into the pool. Which I completely understand for health reasons. But, children with dirty diapers, should nonetheless be restricted as well.
