The gym is nice I love going but i went to the pool on Saturday and it was disgusting! So many dead bugs, leaves, and green on the sides and bottom of the pool. No wonder why its usually empty. I had to pay $6 for one person to get in and we only stayed for 10mins. Extremely disappointing, and disgusting.

I drive to this location for the amazing Zumba class with Liz G, currently on Friday, Sunday and every other Saturday. She is a wonderful dancer and instructor. I have done Zumba for many years and she is by far the best Zumba instructor I have ever taken a class with. She also teaches at the Ryan and Benbrook YMCA locations.

This is not really a review of the gym although I will touch on that at the end, but rather the athletic program - specifically soccer. I can’t speak to other programs but unfortunately we have played soccer with the Y the last 3 years and it’s an absolute mess. I do believe this reflects bad management as a whole, not just the athletic director. While he made some poor choices especially for scheduling (putting 5-6 year olds playing games at 7:30 at night on a Friday!!!), he is clearly new to this role and did not have proper training and support needed to make this program go smoothly. We didn’t even get a game schedule until 10 days after the season started. That is unacceptable. Especially considering there are other options for soccer in the area (which we are exploring for next fall). I know this is a trend with the YMCA as they have had a new athletic director basically every year the last 3 years and each one has seemed lost, stressed, not sure what to do etc. It seems like they are incapable of either hiring adequate people OR the more likely scenario is they do not support, equip or train their employees well. They have had a revolving door of management here at this part

I recently rejoined the Y as we moved back to the area. But after today, I’m second guessing my choice. Leanne has a terribly negative attitude, and cannot communicate effectively. She was very unkind. Hoping for a better experience in the future!

Helpful and friendly staff, clean facility, and great classes to choose from. Absolutely LOVE the Silver Sneakers classes! I'm kicking myself for not getting involved in them sooner since I've had my membership at the YMCA for some time now. The instructors are engaging and the classes while gentle are very effective.
