Neighborhood Pickleball is easily one of the most unique places to play pickleball in the Bay Area. After playing here once, I loved the experience enough to become a member, and I now often host large groups of players here. The setting is hard to beat — six floors up on a rooftop in downtown Berkeley, with great pickleball, an awesome community vibe, and dozens of restaurants and bars just downstairs and within a few blocks. Play for a couple of hours, then walk off the courts and grab food or drinks with friends. It makes pickleball feel like part of a bigger social experience rather than just another court reservation. Jim was inspired by the rooftop pickleball scene in Austin and brought his own version of that concept to the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m really glad he did. There’s something special about playing outdoors above downtown Berkeley, surrounded by the energy of the city. It’s a unique spot, a great addition to the local pickleball community, and one of those places that reminds you how much fun this sport can be beyond just the competition. We’re lucky to have Neighborhood Pickleball in the Bay Area.

An absolute gem! Having a pickleball club on top of a parking structure is such an incredible use of space. Before visiting, I was worried about wind and balls flying off the roof but that wasn't an issue at all while playing, the place is designed very well to prevent that to the best of its ability. There are 3 courts and plenty of shaded benches to hang out between games. On a clear day, the views are amazing, you can even see San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge in the horizon. Jim, the owner, is super chill and welcoming, and you can really tell how much pride he takes in what he’s built here. Can't wait to come back!
