My son has been taking lessons here for the past several months. I appreciate the ability to schedule from week to week. He’s in the QuickStart 1 class for beginners and has really enjoyed it.

Beautiful surroundings near the courts, featuring large trees and pleasant shaded areas. The academy offers access to professional coaches and private lessons, which I appreciated. The only downside is the parking situation, as you need to park on the street. It would also be helpful to have more seating options for parents waiting while their children practice.

We recently enrolled our 7-year-old in the Quick Start II (Orange Ball 2) program through Mack Phillips Tennis Academy in partnership with Round Rock Parks & Recreation, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The program is advertised as an intermediate-level class focused on players who have already mastered fundamentals and are ready to work on rallying and match play. However, the actual class felt much closer to a beginner level. We later learned there was a registration issue in the lower-level program, which resulted in several less-experienced players being moved up. This created a mixed-level environment that significantly impacted the structure and quality of the class. As a result, much of the time was spent on very basic stroke work, with little to no focus on rallying or match play as described. To be fair, Coach Ali was great—our son enjoyed working with him. However, the overall level of instruction and challenge did not align with what was advertised, which was disappointing given the time and money invested. Great tennis academy in Round Rock, professional and caring coaches, perfect lessons organisation and well done courts, calm and not crowded place near the lake. You can have group, private or semi private lessons as well. Our son loves playing there and has never been annoyed! Recommend this place a lot, you will never be disappointed!

Loved the atmosphere. Really liked how both coaches were thorough and very knowledgeable. Really liked Coach Alex. He took his time and explained what the person was doing wrong, then took the time and explained and showing them how to correctly execute.
