It’s a short course…but don’t let that fool you…I just played it on 7/4/26 and it was awesome! Great condition, friendly folks at the clubhouse and elevation changes is crazy! Go play it.. Similar review I will give Tilden Park Golf course, but this course was slightly easier for me than Tilden. I shot 78 from the back tees at this course, but I think I would struggle to break 80 at Tilden..didn’t keep score at Tilden, but i probably shot 90…or more… hahaha…I think Tilden plays much tighter than Chabot…but I love both courses..it’s slightly different experiences… Lake Chabot feels more open than Tilden..play both if you can…

The 18-Hole course had a decently kept wide fairway & greens. The views of the bay were awesome as well. The only downside was that the cart path had branches coming out the path, & many potholes. ———————————————————— The 18-Hole course featured wide fairways, but many slopes. The little amount of bunkers weren’t placed in difficult spots. There wasn’t as many obstacles to the hole, only lots of hills, & steeper elevation. Only sometimes, the hole was difficult to spot. Difficulty level Overall: 6.5/10 Cart is recommended. ————————————————————— The Par 3 course is an easy, beginner friendly course. Not as many children, but I’ve seen lots of beginners who barely know how to swing. The game is slow-paced but less pressure. The distance to the hole is around 70-160 yards overall. (They also have Disc Golf.) Price: Around $5 Difficulty level Overall: 3.5/10

Finally I tried the golf course last Friday. It's only 20 miles from where I live and in the morning it wasn't so bad with the traffic. The road to the golf course is beautiful with trees on both sides. I always walk with my golf cart, but booking online it only had the option with cart. I was glad that they forced us to pay for the golf cart, BTW, when you book online the night before, you have to pay for the tee time non refundable with a credit card. If you want to walk which is a little difficult and slow due to many hilly fairways, you must call the pro shop to book. I didn't see anyone walking on last Friday. There are 2 courses on this establishment, there's one 9 holes and one 18 holes. The check-in pro shop is across from the cart return area, hard to see, a small house, may be it's still in renovation? The driving range is right next to it. BTW, it's a little difficult to find a parking spot close to the pro shop, the best is to park, then check in to get a cart and go to the car to get the clubs. I played a tournament at Lake Chabot GC Superbowl Sunday before the game. The day started out foggy, but once it cleared I was able to take in the beauty of this course. The course was in very good condition, considering the time of year. The layout of the course was on the tighter side, meaning the fairways were narrow. The course also had a couple holes where your tee shot would land in a blind area. If the groups were not paying attention they were likely to hit into you. The greens were fast and had plenty of contour. Finding yourself below the hole would put you at a definite advantage. The greens themselves were on the small side. Playing with a short iron or wedge in would help a great deal. Overall I enjoyed my experience. I will be back to play a recreational round.

Fantastic course and a great challenge. Most second shots are uphill or downhill, so you really have to think your way around the course and try and set yourself up. The fairways were freshly cut and plush, and the greens were pure, firm, fast, and rolling true for the most part. For courses in the bay, the views are incredible pretty much on every hole, with 16 overlooking the entire Bay Area so that was cool. It was quiet, the pace of play was excellent, and the overall vibe made for a really enjoyable round. The only small downside the whole day was having to double-check a few tee shots because of traffic near some fairways, but that didn’t take much away from an otherwise great experience. I’d absolutely play it again.
