We visited Kalahari Resort and, unfortunately, the experience did not feel worth the price. The resort is fun and impressive, but it feels like everything comes with an extra charge, which made the overall experience feel very expensive. Another issue was that there was water everywhere around the hotel and waterpark areas, so the place constantly felt wet and uncomfortable. For the amount of money you pay to stay here, I expected a better overall experience and more things to be included. It was nice to experience once, especially for the kids, but for us this is probably a one-time visit. I don’t think the overall value matches the high price.

The experience at this resort falls short of justifying the nightly rate. They charge for everything, including a crib or pack and play, which costs $25 per night plus tax. We’ve stayed in numerous resorts and hotels, and this was a first for us. The indoor water park looks much better in social media than it actually is. So, come with low expectations. The food in the restaurants is also below average. And to top it off, we had to deal with the grumpy and rude hotel manager, Laura. We decided to pay for the pack and play rental for our 1.5-year-old toddler, even though the rental rate was absurd. We wanted to have a good night’s rest. However, last night, the live music was blasting outside our window until 10 pm. Our little ones’ bedtime is 8 pm, so we were struggling to get them to sleep. Our baby couldn’t sleep, so we had to have her sleep with us. We understand that hotels have entertainment, but when we checked out, we didn’t complain about the music. Instead, we kindly asked if they could at least remove the last night’s crib fee because our little one didn’t use it. The manager was so annoyed at us that she didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience of the loud noise.

Eat at Double Cut steak house! Great atmosphere and service. Food was really good. We got the pork chops and poke bowl. Both were excellent. The fries are really really good! Live music when we came as well. Very posh. Larger than you think! Rooms here are comfortable, but the couch surface feels like plastic. Kid-proof, yes, comfortable no. Elevators need scent sprays or something, frequently did not smell good. Valet here is very good. Restaurant choices are good, you will have all of your bases covered. Water park was closed when we came. Conventions center is amazing for events. Absolutely massive.

We had such a great time at Kalahari! We came with our 2-year-old and 6-year-old, and they absolutely loved every minute of it. There was so much for both of them to do, from the water park to all the family activities. The resort was clean, well organized, and the staff was friendly everywhere we went. Even though it was busy, it never felt overwhelming. It was definitely worth the drive from Houston, and we made some amazing family memories. We’ll definitely be back!
