We did a group pickleball event here. Nice courts but they had some of the courts closed down. All the courts filled up and learned the “next paddle” system. Definitely witnessed the some beginners and advanced level of play.

I played here on a Tuesday night in December—temps in the 40s. It was still full of people to play. I played on the 6 intermediate courts which had a paddle system for rotating in new pairs. It looked like the beginner courts and advanced courts were well populated too, but intermediate stayed busiest longest. When I left around 9:30 PM, it seemed things were winding down on all courts. The people were welcoming and good sports. Some, like me, were from out of town. But most were local.

pickleball is a fun and engaging sport, some people seem to forget the importance of courtesy and sharing the space with others. It has become a common issue at the court where some groups of people take up the space for an extended period of time, playing multiple games in a row without considering the waiting players. This behavior can be frustrating, especially when others are eagerly waiting for a chance to play. It creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and leaves some players feeling excluded or unimportant. It’s essential to remember that the court is meant to be shared by all, and proper civic sense and respect for others’ time should always be a priority. To improve the experience for everyone, it would be great if players would stick to the rule of playing one game, then allowing others a turn. This simple gesture not only helps maintain a positive and welcoming environment but also ensures that everyone gets a chance to enjoy the game. A little bit of courtesy can go a long way.
