Dallas is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Dallas is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We’ve had such a great experience at the lk swim academy. The office is very organized and able to answer questions. All the instructors are well trained and professional. This is the best swim school we’ve tried in Dallas and I’ve tried so many of them including the y and Emler. I wish I had heard about this place earlier! Thank you!

Super nice people , helpful , good exercise classes, nice weight area and work out area. Beautiful building. Pool is amazing. The most importantly it comes down to the people: nice helpful friendly. Just one FYI, I do still get messages saying that I was missed at a class that I signed up for and attended. The front desk always says that the instructor has to sign you in so I don’t know if they do or not. Thanks for everything you do!

I love the Dallas JCC - a great place for community gathering, interesting lectures, and a fantastic place to workout, strength train, and swim. The JCC has so much to offer its members! Cindy Dodson's 8:00 a.m. Tuesday Barbells Reps and Sets class provides a challenging workout by an instructor who truly understands body mechanics and safe weight lifting. Cindy constantly scans the class to make sure everyone is lifting safely - using proper form. She changes the workouts and music to keep it fresh, interesting, and challenging. It's almost like a private lesson, except you are surrounded by a very full class of very appreciative students who are also her adoring fans! If you took a poll you'd find ALL of these members would love to take her class multiple times a week if it was offered. I absolutely would. As an athlete, I recognize Cindy guides her classes through a very thorough and thoughtful workout, one that is also super fun and entertaining. We want more classes with Cindy! The spin class teachers are also super fantastic - Jason Lewallen (Monday), Christi Simmons (Wednesday), and Jennifer Wellington (Friday) guide their 6:00 a.m. classes through fun and challenging spin w

I got a seven day trial pass before I was going to sign up. There’s parts of the J that are great and there’s parts that need a lot of work. I’ve been to many J’s in the past and used to belong to one back in my hometown for many years. This J has most of the amenities the other ones have. The men’s locker room was fully redone about a year ago, and I will say the steam room and lockers do look new, but they’re very close together, and I feel like the locker room needs to be bigger as people are on top of each other. When you’re walking in and out you’re running into each other and the hot tub is tiny. They added a cold plunge, which they probably shouldn’t know because it takes up too much room. The steam room is weak pressure and barely does anything. The showers were OK as they look new but not a whole lot of pressure coming out. The pool is outdated and needs to be redone. The fitness center is a couple years old I believe but it’s very crammed in there. You’re literally on top of someone else as you’re working out. Overall, it’s OK for a gym to work out in, but honestly, there’s better stuff in the area for the same price. Their normal prices are up there with higher gyms that

I love the J! The facilities at the J are really outstanding, from the gym to the swimming pools and of course, the people! The outdoor swimming pool is the best! The recently remodeled women’s bathrooms, lockers and spa are beautiful and tastefully done. I love everything about the J. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be a member. A member for life. Venetia Sarode
