Very nice setting at this lovely old hotel owned by the Palmolive family and set under the oaks on the St. John's River. We had room 103 in the riverfront building and you had to climb down about seven or eight stairs but the room was nice and it had a little kitchenette and a couch, a king bed and a twin bed and a patio balcony that overlooked the St Johns River lovely. Make sure you go right next door to their "private club" and enjoy a cocktail. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and on a Friday morning we were provided a buffet breakfast in the main building which included fresh fruit, sausage patties, scrambled eggs and muffins along with coffee and juices. Plenty of food. Everyone working there was very nice as well and check in was seamless. There isn't a whole lot to do in the area so if you just want to hang out under the trees or look out on the river this is your place.

Specifically leaving this review for wedding ceremony & reception: I had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Club in April 2026. It was a beautiful day but several things happened during the planning process and wedding that I am extremely disappointed in and unhappy with. On the whole I enjoyed the wedding day experience, but the Club missed the mark on several important things for me. On the wedding day, I found out from my guests that despite me paying for the premium alcohol package, they were telling my guests they could only use certain premium liquors in the signature drinks, which was never ever discussed or agreed upon. I specifically paid for a better package so my guests could enjoy good drinks. I also found out that they denied food to one of my guests who arrived a little late due to a delayed flight, even though the food was still out and they had only just started cleaning up. The food was also underwhelming - definitely over priced for what you get. The planning process was also not easy, I was told no and given constraints far more often than I was told yes and supported. Beautiful riverview restaurant, rooms and grounds. Full breakfast was included, a pleasant bonus. Reasonably priced stay. We didn't have time to try out the pool. Our late night arrival (due to flight time) was accomodated. I think we would return!

As a wedding planner, I highly recommend! The entire staff is fabulous to work with. Carla helped throughout the planning process answering questions and walking us through. On wedding day, the venue staff did did a phenomenal job. We love working here!

Seriously one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever been to. We celebrated my grandmas 100th! Birthday and rented out one of their private dinning areas along with the catering. The food was amazing, the decor was beautiful, and the staff was extremely kind. There even was a private bar for the afternoon. It was an amazing experience and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a venue for any occasion.

My wife and I had our wedding (platinum elopement package) here and it went perfect! We were short on time to get married and Club Continental was amazing with accommodating our request. Carla Sparks deserves so much credit with answering all of our questions and helping us prepare for the big event. The view is beautiful all around and the photos we took there look amazing. Staff was nice and the room we stayed in was nice and cozy and had a great view overlooking the St John's river. Club Continental and its amenities and services are a fantastic value for an unforgettable experience!
