Frustrating and VERY disappointed. I came from the Ft. Hood area to play a round with my son and his neighbor (who made the Tee-Time) who live in that area. Being "Junteenth"/Father's day weekend, finding an affordable round was difficult and thus we find ourselves at Blackhawk Golf Course. The majority of fairways had large areas bare and extremely muddy, and where there was grass it was infested with Crabgrass clumps. Most of the Crabgrass was alive and thriving, but some had been sprayed with poison and had large (12-14 in) dead brown circles around them. The first cut off the fairways was ok, but narrow. The primary cuts were overgrown (8-12 in), you could not locate your ball 10 ft off the fairway at times. The Greens were horrific, large areas had nothing but sand, the grass areas were bumpy at best. It cost $63 and change each and the only thing that made it tolerable was I got to play golf and spend the day with my son! I truly feel that this facility/course needs new ownership, I can't believe a Manager and "Greens-Keeper" would purposely allow a course to deteriorate to this level, that would boarder on criminal, they must have suffered from money restraints (I h

Played an early Saturday morning tee off. Eh, I have been there one time before, it is the cheapest around but honestly its pretty awful. The putting green surface is terrible and the entire place is poorly kept. Myself and my stepson played 18 holes and another 2 joined us. We were not SLOW, however the (Sheriff) as he was called, was on us like white on rice, adding to the awfulness.. the guys behind us were not Great. I think they were hitting in the bad areas and just dropping a ball. But they were fast. The Sheriff told us we had to speed it up , he in particular was very annoying. I offered to just let them pass but he claimed that would make it worse ... I understand the timeline and how it works but at times I was actually running back to the cart just to stay ahead. The sheriff Should Have been on them not us and we refused to skip a hole just for him. We played our shots and finished our 18 ,even after stopping for a beer. He was just too much rite at first ,and even walked out on the fairway and was talking while one of us was trying to hit. He didnt bother me as much as he did the other guys but he was too much. I genuinely don’t know how this place is allowed to charge people money to play here. I’ve played goat ranches in better condition. The “greens” looked like someone scattered sand and drywall dust across them and called it maintenance. Half the fairways were basically a mix of dead grass, weeds, cracked dirt, and random bare patches that looked like a failed construction site. The cart paths were somehow even worse — broken up, washed out, and surrounded by dirt trenches. At one point I honestly couldn’t tell if I was driving through a golf course or an abandoned lot behind a Walmart. Every lie felt like punishment. You’d hit the fairway and still end up playing off hardpan and weeds. What really pushed it to 1 star though was the service. Staff acted annoyed that people were even there, zero accountability for the course conditions, and absolutely no warning beforehand that the place was in this shape. Charging full price for this is borderline disrespectful. The photos speak for themselves: patchy greens, dirt-covered fairways, weeds everywhere, and conditions so dry the ground is literally cracking apart. The course in in terrible shape and is going thru some maintenance on the greens. Too much sand on the greens and grass too thick making them super slow. Not really worth paying over $60.

One of the WORST golf course experiences. While checking in for my tee time I’m met by the rudest golf shop employee I’ve ever had the displeasure of speaking to. Fairways looked absolutely hideous. On the other hand though, pace of play was good due to nobody else being out there. Wouldn’t even pay a penny to come back.
