Been hearing about Black Gold, as one of the best courses around Yorba Linda area, but still remember there's one time playing with a golfer, his comments about Black Gold was "beautiful but not much design elements", well, today I have to say that I agree with him. Black Gold is definitely a nice course without a doubt, the challenges will be distance rather than landscape. For instance, Hole 6, 500 yards Par 5, while your first shot from blue tee is requesting for min. 250 yards to fly across the hazards. Another characteristic here at Black Gold is that many holes have escalated tee box, so your driver distance should be able to take advantage of it, e.g. Hole 1/8/11/14/15/18. And currently Hole 10 is under construction, hence you'll hit on the driving range pad. Overall, Black Gold is for sure very nice course, just people are looking for more.

Decent course but expensive. Didn’t find any of the holes memorable. And some of the bunkers are hard pan underneath. Lots of distance from green to tee and quite of bit of elevation. Cut in the middle of a residential canyon neighborhood with lots of homes. Nice covered driving range.

We had our daughter’s 18th birthday held in black gold and the service was really amazing. The place was well kept the food was fantastic and the staff were very professional. Marco really took care of us and everything we needed for the day. Joni was really amazing and very patient with us from planning all the way to execution was flawless. Lauren was very helpful and all the staff were very attentive to our needs. Compliment to the chef for a very good food.

This course was unbelievable for the price that was paid. The vistas are amazing, lots of rolling hills, surrounded by homes. Greens were a little bumpy, but it was later in the day, I could see lots of feet prints, and it wasn’t because it was longer grass, the greens were speedy, but they were soft, and probably hadn’t been rolled for days. Bunkers had great sand. Rough wasn’t the best, but it is February. I’d love to play this course in the summer when the rough is growing. Definitely worth the trip, I’ll add this to my regular rotation when I travel here. Most of the courses with similar layouts are double the price. There are a few short par 4s that make it fun to try and drive one close or layup. Please go play. Worth the time.

Played at Black Gold today, and it was such a great experience. Since it rained recently, all 18 holes were cart-path-only, but it honestly didn’t take away from the round at all. The course looked beautiful after the rain, and so many of the holes were stunning. I felt genuinely happy the whole time out there.
